Who can be an environmentalist?
What is the proper scope and definition of "environmentalism"? How can social definitions of sustainability and environmental activism be more inclusive? How do our individual actions and experiences factor into global fights against environmental degradation, as opposed to public policy and systems change?
Join Environmental Alliance for Earthfest from April 9th-11th to engage with Duke professors, students, experts, and activists on the central questions defining the environmental movement today. In exploring this year's theme—"Who Can Be an Environmentalist?"—we aim to tackle these questions from a range of perspectives and fields. Our speaker panels, presentations, and interactive student events will highlight diverse forms of advocacy and activism in the Duke community and beyond.
